Howdy Lizard Lovers
Here's the latest on Readings favourite Reptiles...
As you may remember we made it through to the regional final of the Southern Comfort Battle of the Bands competition. The gig was last saturday in the main hall of the union and featured some stiff competition in the form of Funk N' Disorderly, Flip Zippo, The Other Garden and Nightsoil. Playing third on the bill, we had a big crowd (thanks!!) and put in a killer set despite more band illness (get well soon Ed). We only had 20 minutes to play but managed to squeeze out the following songs...
Orange Tree Song
Get it in the back
We threw them out in a rapid-fire manner and were very pleased with the reception they got. Unfortunately when it came to the results we were pipped at the post by Flip Zippo (much to the amazement of everyone... including Flip Z. themselves). Anyway, good luck to 'em in the final. Being a good sport I wont go into the various conspiracy theories relating to the result, but will pass on the following wise words from style guru James Turky...
"You realise you cant win this or for the rest of your career you'll be known as 'that band that won the southern comfort thing'"
Speaking of James, Turky will be playing down at the Alleycat tonight (Tuesday 9th)... do pop along and wink suggestively at them. Be sure to let the door know you've come to see Turky as the number of people doing this dictates how much the lads get paid.
We'll be taking the air again upstairs at the Alleycat supporting The Space Monkeys who are currently putting the boot into the USA as I type. Should be a big 'un!!! It's on Tuesday 16th December if you are still in the Reading vacinity.
Also, those of you lurking round Reading before christmas can catch us at the Reading Boxing Club on Saturday 20th. Also playing are Toy Bridge plus another band. Mail me if you want a ticket!!

Thought for the Day:
Never criticize a man until you've walked a mile in his shoes. Then, if he doesn't like what you have to say, you are a mile away and have his shoes.
